This week in London has been great! For some reason I always imagined England be gloomy and rainy everyday, but it's been super humid and sunny lately. I guess we'll see how much it rains in the winter though, I'm sure it will be freezing! I'm finally getting the hang of the schedule, and the transportation here. The tube can be pretty darn confusing sometimes... especially when your in a hurry... Good thing I have a companion, otherwise I would get lost everyday! Hopefully I'll get a hang of it soon. (:
Something exciting that happened this week is that I went on my first exchange. Woohoo!! This Wednesday I packed my overnight bag and headed to Ilford. It's as if you're in Pakistan...most people who live there are Indian, and it always smells like curry. The whole point of exchanges is to learn from other missionaries and get ideas of finding and teaching techniques from different areas. Sister Nebeker became my new companion for the day and we went to work. (: We taught, talked to people on the streets about the gospel, did a bit of service, ate ice cream, taught some more, taught people on the bus, and before I knew it I was headed back to South Kensington. Time in the mission is so weird... a quote from the MTC "The days feel like weeks, and the weeks feel like days".
Sister Hug and I also had a bunch of miracles happen this week. One day as we were on visitors center shift a 23 year old woman named V. walked into the visitors center. After talking to her a bit we learned that after years of feeling like there was something more to life she came across one of Elder Hollands talks online. She absolutely loved it and started to research more into the LDS church. By the time she walked into the visitors center she had never met with the missionaries before, but had read the Book of Mormon up to Alma, watched general conference, and even walked around the London Temple grounds. (: Sister Hug left and started giving another tour, so I took over. As I showed her the baptismal font (we have our own in Hyde Park Chapel) she looked at me, and gave me the most sincere smile I have ever seen. She said "When can I be baptized? That's what I want to do." (: She's now meeting with the missionaries in her area and is working to be baptized on July 5th! It just goes to show how much God prepares people to hear the gospel. He knows exactly how much, and exactly when every one of his children need to hear the gospel. (:
Well, that was just a bit of my week. Just taking it day by day, doing the work God's way. (: Hope everyone has an incredible week! Love you all! Cheerio. ;)
Love, Sister Croft
